The middle cranial temporal approach was otoneurosurgery approach. It is an approach indicated for the surgery of intracanalicular vestibular schwannomas in patients under 65 years of age with functional or useful hearing function. It allows a total exposure of the internal auditory canal with preservation of the auditory and facial function. The principal landmarks of this approach were eminentia arcuata and the greater superficial petrosal nerve GSPN.
